How I read this case
In retail, AI is sold as personalisation and almost always paid for in inventory. What moves the result is not better recommendations: it is forecasting demand with less error and getting that number to the buyer in time. A case that only talks about experience rarely changed the margin.
The three questions
- Whether the gain shows in margin and stockouts, or only in clicks.
- How fast it recalculates when demand shifts overnight.
- Whether the store and the digital channel share the same number.
