What to put in each variable
Replace each bracket with your real data. The more concrete, the better it comes out.
How to use it, step by step
Pick your tool. The steps are the same in all of them; specific notes appear below when there are any.
- Go to chatgpt.com and sign in. The free tier covers nearly every prompt in this library.
- Start a new conversation: prompts work better without the drag of an earlier chat.
- Copy the prompt with the button above and replace every [VARIABLE] with your real data before sending.
- If the prompt asks for a file, use the paperclip to attach it before sending.
- Read the answer and correct it in the same conversation: "shorter", "formal tone", "add a column". Do not start over.
- Go to claude.ai and sign in.
- Open a new chat. Claude handles long documents well: if you have material, paste or attach it.
- Copy the prompt and replace the [VARIABLES]. You can paste context material below the prompt, separated by a blank line.
- Send. For work you will repeat, save it as a Project and keep the prompt in the instructions.
- Ask it to show where each figure comes from if you want to verify: Claude cites what you gave it well.
- Go to gemini.google.com with your Google account.
- Open a new chat. If the prompt works on a Drive file, you can link it directly.
- Copy the prompt, replace the [VARIABLES] and send.
- Gemini is strong on current data: if the prompt needs recent information, ask it to search.
- Refine in the same conversation. To export, ask for the result as a table and send it to Sheets with one click.
- Open Copilot: at copilot.microsoft.com, in Edge, or inside Word, Excel or Teams if your company has the licence.
- If you are inside Word or Excel, the prompt can work on the open document without copying anything.
- Copy the prompt, replace the [VARIABLES] and send.
- With an enterprise licence, Copilot respects your organisation permissions: it only sees what you can see.
- Ask for the result in the Office format you need: an Excel table, slides, a ready-to-send email.
